Contemporary cartography is a forgotten art form. The artistic quality of a map is lost amidst its utility, especially amidst a utility that serves the ever quickening pace of modern urban life. The portrait, a minimalistic pastiche of the intricately crafted yet eternally ignored MTR map, serves to highlight the art form that is the map; an art form that strictly demands both geographic accuracy and stylistic beauty.
