Lotus of Resillience

Rationale: The lotus flower represents resilience, serenity, and the mental capacity to deal with obstacles and challenges. Because of this, it conveys the message of mental stability and self reflection. I made this painting by reusing plastic bags to create the pattern and texture of the green lotus leaves and reusing straws to blow bubbles onto the paper to create the hollow seeming appearance of the blue lotus pods. The colors of this painting, green and blue, often represent calmness and hope.
