My staycation at Hotel De Luxe

I was packing up all my stuff into my little hand-carry bag. I placed my phone, clothes, and my stuffed doll, Ha Hoop, whom I couldn’t sleep with. He was a small T-rex wearing a bright yellow Hawaiian shirt.

I finished packing at around 8:30, but I still couldn’t sleep. I could hear my brother’s soft breathing right beside me. I found it very difficult to fall asleep. We were going on a staycation! It was the midterm break, and I hadn’t been out of the house for days. I stayed at home doing homework unlike my friends, who had been going out to parks every day. I finally fell asleep listening to my brother’s breathing.

I woke up the next morning, and the sky was bright. I checked the time on my phone, and it read, : 5:30. I saw Mom and Dad outside, fully dressed. I put on all my clothes and brushed my teeth. By the time I finished all my daily routines, it was 6:15. Since everyone was done with everything, and the uber wasn’t here yet, I took out my phone and watched Youtube.

The uber took some good time coming here, so I burned through 3 youtube videos. The ride to Hotel De Luxe was long and uneventful.

At the hotel, it was around 11:00. We checked in and got our rooms. After we unpacked our things, it was time to have lunch. Mom booked a restaurant called Royal Restaurant. Aunt Rose had given her this coupon which could be minus $300 from the cost. The restaurant had also just built a boat where there was a bunch of fish and the customers could fish them out.

We settled down at a table. It had two sofas and an indoor barbecue. Dad skimmed through the menu and ordered stuff. When we had been waiting for 15 minutes, Dad asked the waiter why the food was taking so long. The waiter said that the chef that was cooking our food accidentally burned and scalded himself, and no other chefs were available to make our food yet. Therefore, we had to wait 10 more minutes for our food.

Suddenly, a waiter came walking swiftly to our table. His nametag was written, Bob. The food looked like the ones Dad ordered. I was so happy that the food finally came! Just then, another waiter who was holding something came rushing toward Bob! This waiter had a round nose like Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer. Bob tried to dodge the bullet, but the round-nosed waiter also had the same plan! They ended up crashing into each other. I was devastated. All that waiting was for nothing!

The round-nosed waiter had a busted lip and Bob had a cut on his cheek.

Meanwhile, the manager heard all the commotion and came rushing down. She was calling family to see how they were doing. Suddenly, she placed on the wrong foot and sprained her ankle! Oh, dear. My ankle hurts. I guess I have to wait until I can go back home to add some ointment.

The manager limped down the staircase and went to see what the commotion was. When she saw John, the round-nosed waiter, and Bob on the floor, she was embarrassed. John and Bob were the newest members of the restaurant and they had already managed to cause some trouble. To make up for it and to avoid the bad comments, the manager announced, ‘Everyone! Because of this embarrassing stunt by us, we would be appreciated it if you are interested in expriencing our newly built fish boat for free.’

The crowd scuttled toward the fish boat excitedly, forgetting the small hiccups immediately.
