Something about the piano

Makes it look ever so grandeur

Perhaps its sleek shape

The shining colors that shimmer at night

The repetition of black and white notes that appear gracefully and slight

Or maybe,

It's just the red velvet that covers the majestic beast so it won't blight

The piano takes upon countless forms

For it is a shapeshifter

It can be

Flowing, contrasting - Baroque

Elegant, balanced - Classical

Dramatic, dynamic - Romantic

Some say the task is undemanding

It is opposite, in fact

One must spend days mastering the arts

Balancing time and practice in intricate ways

To do a perfect trill

A crisp staccato

Perfect synchronization of eyes, hands and muscles

Ah, the Piano

What a beauty

For mastering it is truly is a feat to behold
