My dog Luna is a smallish, golden-brown mongrel, and she is a female. Her nose was pink when we adopted her, then it turned black-then back to pink. Her ears stick up, but when folded down, she looks like an undersized Labrador with scaled-down ears. For some strange reason, her tongue is purple-black, which was a point of discussion between the dog owners in our community. When she sleeps, she prefers to curl up into a ball with her tail pressed against her back legs and with her head in her front paws. She has dreamy, black eyes and a relatively long muzzle. The middle of her muzzle leading to her nose is black, but the rest of her face is the same color as the rest of her fur. The insides of her ears are pink, however this shade is far lighter than her nose. She enjoys being patted, belly rubs and fetch, and she sometimes shuttle-runs or jumps on people when excited. She rarely barks, and when she does, it just sounds like a very loud exhale, and she sometimes also growls, raises her hackles and bares her teeth when angry or provoked. Luna prefers to rest in soft places, such as her bed or on the sofa, though she occasionally lies on the bare floor, sometimes because the tiles are cooler than elsewhere, and she needs to cool down on a hot day. She is quite shy, and likes to chase her own tail when it’s pulled. She has long claws for a dog, and hates it when my mom cuts or blunts them. I often wonder how her tail doesn’t get tired from wagging all the time, because sometimes she wags her tail so much that it seems her butt is shaking too. She’s my favorite dog!
